CDPHE Technical Support, Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant Project Pueblo, Colorado - Sentinel Consulting Services, LLC serves as technical advisor to Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE), under a multi-year contract, for the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant Project. The plant is being built to destroy the 2,611 tons of mustard agent that are part of the U.S. national chemical weapons stockpile at the Pueblo Chemical Depot, in southeastern Colorado.
Sentinel’s services include technical and scientific support, engineering design review, review of construction certification metrics, and field oversight services necessary to ensure the intended elements are compliant with regulatory and permit requirements. Sentinel provides technical and regulatory advice on numerous aspects, including those related to structural integrity and containment, chemical munitions destruction, chemical agent, air handling/monitoring, concrete design/inspection, and RCRA permitting.
CDPHE Technical Support, Uranium Mill Tailings Processing Facility, Canon City, Colorado -Sentinel Consulting Services, LLC performed an independent technical review and assessment for CDPHE regarding the regulatory conformance and technical viability of an existing waste containment and leak detection systems for the primary and secondary tailings impoundments at a uranium mill facility near Canon City, Colorado. The tailings impoundments were constructed in 1978, covered approximately 100 acres, and contained solid and liquid waste byproducts. The primary objective of the assessment was to evaluate the technical viability of the waste containment and leak detection systems for the primary and secondary tailings impoundments at the facility, relative to 6 CCR 1007-1, Part 18 Licensing Requirements.
